GenPI.co East Java – The government of Kediri City, East Java, distributed around 2,000 betta fish and guppies in the program of the simultaneous movement to eradicate mosquito nests (Gertak mosquitoes) for residents.
This method is done to anticipate the breeding of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
Head of the Kediri City Food and Agriculture Security Service, Mohamad Ridwan, said the distribution was carried out as a form of support for the simultaneous movement to eradicate mosquito nests.

“We participate in distributing fish in this program. We share two types of fish, namely betta and guppies,” said Ridwan.
The fish purchased are the result of betta breeders in the City of Kediri, and are intended to support their business so that they remain productive.

“For betta fish we buy above the market price,” said Ridwan.
Meanwhile, the Head of Burengan Village, Adi Sutrisno, said that his party was also following up on instructions from the Mayor of Kediri, Abdullah Abu Bakar, regarding the simultaneous movement to eradicate mosquito nests.

The activity was carried out by involving Jumantik or larva monitoring interpreter and three pillars.
