Keanu Reeves has donated 70% of his fees to the “Matrix” to fight cancer

Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves has donated 70 percent of his royalties to the first film in the Matrix series to an anti-leukemia fund, the Daily Mail reports.

The actor received an advance payment of $ 10 million for the first film in the franchise, and was later paid 10 percent of the proceeds from theatrical screenings of $ 35 million. Most of the money earned went to a fund to fight leukemia.

In 1991, the actor’s younger sister, Kim, was diagnosed with leukemia. The actor takes care of both her and her rehabilitation. Reeves even sells his house to be closer to his sister. The actor also spent $ 5 million on her rehabilitation therapy.

“She has always taken care of me. I will always take care of her,” Keanu Reeves said at the time.

The Hollywood actor’s sister has been in remission since 2001. Kim is now 55 years old. Reeves later set up a fund to help people battling cancer.

The publication recalls that Keanu Reeves shared his royalties for the next two films in the series “The Matrix” with visual effects teams and costume designers.
