Keanu Reeves confirms himself as the celebrity with the biggest and most generous heart. It was revealed that the actor donated 70% of his fee for his role in the “Matrix” saga in leukemia research.
In 1991, while Reeves was filming the first film in the “Matrix” series, his beloved sister Kim was diagnosed with leukemia. This is why, since then, Keanu has given a lot to research against this disease. In total, the actor is said to have donated around $ 31.5 million to research, out of a total salary of $ 45 million. In order to be near Kim, Keanu sold his house and moved into his sister’s and created a foundation.
The actor is also involved in children’s charities and in 2020 auctioned a virtual match featuring him to raise funds for Camp Rainbow Gold, a charity for young people with cancer. Keanu also donated part of his cachet for the two “Matrix” sequels to staff in the special effects and costume departments. He also offered the twelve stuntmen of “Matrix” a Harley Davidson and the stuntmen of “John Wick” a Rolex submarine worth around 10,000 euros.
The actor always shows he has a good soul, like when he helped a then unknown Olivia Colman who was stranded in Beverly Hills with a broken down car. Or when he hired a bus for all the passengers on the flight he was on, who was forced to make an emergency landing.
