John Wick 4 stars Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne paid tribute to their co-star Lance Reddick, who died unexpectedly last week, at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles, the AP reported.
“We lost a brother and in a really shocking way,” said a visibly upset Fishburne.
“For the rest of my life I will be grateful for the chance I got to work with him,” Reeves said. “He had such a passion for his work and his craft. He was kind. He had dignity.”
He was the heart of this movie, added Fishburne.
“It’s always hard to lose someone you love so much…but you’re also incredibly grateful for the time you had together. We’ve been fortunate to work with Lance since the beginning of the John Wick series. That’s almost 10 years.” , said the film’s director, Chad Stahelski. “He’s a great man, a great artist, a good person, a dear friend.”
“I watched Lance Reddick growing up. It’s a bittersweet moment because for me as a young black actor, he was definitely one of my heroes,” actor Shemar Moore said.
Lance Reddick’s teammates wore blue ribbons in his honor. Reddick is best known for his roles in the TV series “Drug Network”, “Oz”, as well as the film series “John Wick”. Reddick, 60, died last Friday in Los Angeles.
