JSC KDV, the parent company of the KDV Group holding, received a record net profit of 19.6 billion rubles at the end of 2023. A year earlier, the profit was almost four times less – 5.1 billion rubles. The result for 2023 is 19.6 billion rubles – a record figure in the entire history of the company.
The KDV Group food holding produces confectionery, snacks, tea, coffee, pasta, sauces and ketchups under the trademarks “Yashkino”, Calve, “Kirieshki”, “Babkiny Seeds”, etc. Based on the results of 2022, LLC revenue KDV Group, through which the holding carries out sales, amounted to 213 billion rubles. Data for 2023 has not yet been disclosed.
The owner of the food holding is the Confectionery Com company. It also owns the Yarche! supermarket chain, the Dolinsk bank and real estate assets in Siberia. The largest owner of Confectionerus Com is Denis Shtengelov with a share of 78.8%, according to the latest disclosed data at the end of 2021. Last year, Shtengelov, the founder of KDV Group, who started a business with small-scale wholesale trade in raw seeds and the launch of a small confectionery enterprise, entered the Forbes billionaire ranking with an estimated capital of $1.3 billion.
Thanks to the high profits of KDV Group, its shareholder, Confectionery Com, paid record dividends in the amount of 7.1 billion rubles in 2023. Before this, the company appointed dividends amounting to about 1 billion rubles annually.
Shtengelov’s share in the 2023 dividends is 5.6 billion rubles before taxes. In total, over five years, in 2019-2023, he received, according to Forbes calculations, more than 9 billion rubles in dividends before taxes.
Shtengelov is a co-owner of the Winter Cherry shopping center in Kemerovo, where, as a result of a fire in 2018, died 60 people (37 of them children) and 79 people were injured. Shtengelov paid the families of those killed in the fire 3 million rubles for each person.
