Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has inaugurated a new Secretariat building in Hyderabad, which he claims is “the epicentre of state administration.” The 265-foot-tall building spans over 10.5 lakh square feet and sits on 28 acres of land. Named after BR Ambedkar, the new Secretariat building replaces the former complex built during undivided Andhra Pradesh. KCR, as he’s popularly known, says it embodies the ideals of the Architect of the Indian Constitution. Despite facing hurdles from political opponents, he has dedicated himself to revitalizing Telangana by reviving all the lakes that remained dry due to a lack of attention in the undivided Andhra Pradesh. A ‘Sudarsana Yagam’ was performed in the morning, followed by various rituals, and Mr Rao eventually occupied his new chambers on the sixth floor of the new building.
