KCIC chief calls out 6 victims due to technical train accident All Chinese citizens

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC extension) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi reported that 6 people were registered as a result of a train accident during the project Fast train Jakarta-Bandung (KCJB) occurred on Sunday (18/12/2022).

Dwiyana said 6 victims technical train accident Casualties consisted of 2 people killed, 2 people moderately/severely injured and 2 people slightly injured.

“They are all technicians from Sinohydro contractor and are Chinese nationals,” Dwiyana said in his statement on Monday (12/19/2022).

Dwiyana confirmed that the seriously injured victim was admitted to intensive care at Santosa Hospital in Bandung. Meanwhile, the victim who sustained minor injuries was allowed to go home.

“We naturally express our deepest condolences and grief to the families of the victims who have passed away,” he said.

Dwiyana said the train technical incident happened on 18 December 2022 at around 5 PM in Cempaka Mekar village, Padalarang, West Bandung Regency.

Work trains, he said, came in the form of diesel locomotives and rail-assembly machines. The work train is managed by the contractor Sinohydro.

“So here, the ones out of the lane are the Work Cars and not the Fast Cars network,” he said.

Furthermore, Dwiyana said that until now his party was still evacuating with related parties.

In addition, KCIC will evaluate the standard operating procedure (SOP) for the railway installation, other work SOPs and ensure that all work performed by the contractor Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train meets occupational safety aspects in each work activity.

“PT KCIC and contractor KCJB fully support the investigation process carried out by the authorities,” he concluded.
