The talk on the acquisition of PT KCI which manages the Jabodetabek KRL by PT MRT Jakarta come back. The Railway Workers’ Union (SPKA) categorically rejected this plan.
Despite the refusal, MRT Jakarta itself appears to be continuing this discourse. When confirmed by detikcom, MRT Jakarta chairman Mohammad Aprindy was reluctant to say much, he clearly stated that the acquisition process was still ongoing.

Aprindy himself confirmed that his party had requested the participation of the regional capital or PMD in the provincial government of DKI Jakarta in 2023. He said the request for the injection of funds was made to supplement transport in Jakarta.
“It is clear (the PMD’s request has been put forward), because our acquisition etiquette is a form of our seriousness in working with all stakeholders, including SOEs, for transport integration we must do so. Therefore, there is a mandate, “Aprindi said.
As is known, in the detikcom notes, referring to the presentation of the DKI Jakarta BUMD at the working meeting of Commission B last Wednesday 14 September, PT MRT Jakarta requested the participation of the regional capital (PMD) in 2023 for a value of 1.71 trillion of Rp. The funds are intended to acquire 51% of shares owned by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (PT KCI).
The plan includes the acquisition of shares of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) to fully integrate mass transit services in the Greater Jakarta area.
