KC Rebell raps dig at Ali As, Kool Savas and Kollegah

Alpha Royale

Some fans may still remember one of the most memorable German battles ever. Never in the history of battle rap has there been more to be won and never has the decision been so contentious. In February 2019 the finals of the “Alpha Royale” tournament took place. The top battle rappers of the “TopTierTakeover” league could compete in it and decide among themselves who is the best of them all.

Kollegah initiated the tournament and gave the winner generous prize money of 10,000 euros. More importantly, for most, it presented the winner with a tremendous opportunity. Because the winner of the tournament should receive a complete album production worth up to 200,000 euros.

Ssynic vs. Meidi

In the end, Meidi, formerly known as Mighty Mo, was able to take the win. But many fans didn’t see him as the winner of the evening. While Ali As, Kool Savas, Motrip and Kollegah all saw Meidi ahead, the audience was almost unanimously on Ssynic’s side.

To this day, some fans even accuse Kollegah of deliberately deciding the battle to the detriment of Ssynic. The reason for this: Overall, Meidi is the more complete rapper and has experience in making tracks. An album by him would probably do better than a release by Ssynic.

In a few weeks, the legendary battle will be celebrated for the third time. And to this day, the controversial result has not yet been forgotten. Now, of all people, KC Rebell is bringing the topic out of the mothball and explaining who he would have voted for. On his new single “Mogli” there is a meaningful line on the subject.

On the song, KC Rebell raps that Ssynic was “wrongly judged” against Meidi. He teases a little against Kollegah, Ali As and Co., who caused the controversial result. Fans shouldn’t take the line too seriously, though, as KC is cool with Ali As and has worked with him a few times in the studio. There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood with Kollegah either.

Accordingly, the line should be taken as a little fun on the side: “But believe me, God is great, yeah/ A lot of things in my life have been misjudged like SSYNIC, Mighty Mo/”
