KBO, deadline for annual salary adjustment in 2021’Application for annual salary adjustment for kt sovereignty’

-KBO (Governor Ji-Taek Ji) closed the application for annual salary adjustment for 2021 on Monday.

The player who applied for an annual salary adjustment is one sovereign pitcher of kt wiz. The sovereignty, which received 150 million won last season, demanded 250 million won as an annual salary for the 2021 season, and the kt club offered 220 million won.

The sovereignty and the kt club must submit the supporting data for calculating the desired annual salary to KBO by 6 p.m. on Monday, 18th. The mediation committee selects one of the proposals from both sides and completes the mediation by the 25th.

If either the club or the player does not submit the data by that date, the mediation will be deemed to have been abandoned and the mediation will be adjusted to the one that submitted the documents. If both players and clubs do not submit the data by the deadline, the request for mediation is deemed to have been withdrawn. It has been nine years since Dae-Hyung Lee in 2012 that there has been an applicant for an annual salary adjustment in the KBO League. At the time, Lee Dae-hyung reached an agreement with his team, so the annual salary adjustment committee was not held. So far, 20 annual salary adjustment committees have been held, and among them, the only case of raising a player’s hand is the case of LG Twins Ryu Ji-hyun (now LG Twins manager) in 2002.

Meanwhile, the mediation committee is formed by the governor of KBO, and the mediation committee must conclude mediation by Monday, January 25th.
