Kazan will host the II International Forum “Outbreaks: Russia and China – Mutually beneficial cooperation” from November 13 to 15. The event aims to strengthen ties between the regions of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.
Delegations from 41 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 21 provinces of the People’s Republic of China, as well as diplomats, parliamentarians, members of the government and businessmen, are expected to arrive in the capital of Tatarstan. In addition, representatives from several States are expected to attend: Brazil, Kyrgyzstan, UAE, Senegal, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Previously, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrovreferred to the high level of ties between Tatarstan and its PRC partners.

In turn, the Rais (head) of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanovnoted the positive dynamics of the development of cooperation between the Russian region and China. In particular, in 2023, commercial turnover increased by 58% to reach $1.6 billion.

The centerpiece of the forum will be the plenary session “Russia and China in the global economic game”, which will be attended by representatives of the regions of both countries and prominent Chinese companies. The agenda of the meeting will include discussion of the role of Moscow and Beijing in the modern world, their common interests and prospects for cooperation.
Another important event of the forum will be the Russia-China Expo exhibition, which will showcase products, services and projects from the main companies of both countries. The event is expected to become a meeting platform for representatives of the business community.
The forum’s business program includes a total of 70 sessions dedicated to a wide range of topics, such as industrial and infrastructure development, cooperation in culture and education, tourism and the social sphere. Participants will be able to visit the main companies and state institutions of the republic.
A rich cultural program also awaits the forum’s guests. The Cross Cultures Zone, timed to coincide with the Years of Cultures of Russia and China, will offer the opportunity to learn about the heritage and traditions of the people of both countries. There will be fashion shows and performances by creative groups, lectures and master classes on languages, crafts and trades. Chinese film days will be held during the forum.
In addition, the cultural circuit includes competitions in modern sports such as hockey, chess and table tennis, as well as traditional Weiqi (Go), one of the oldest board games, more than five thousand years old.
Last year, the first forum “Outbreaks: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation” was also held in Kazan. More than seven thousand people from 25 countries in 58 regions of the Russian Federation attended. On that occasion, 21 agreements were signed between Russia and China.
