Kazakh banks will be allowed to export Russian rubles from the country

“To allow second-tier banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan to export cash Russian rubles from the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the document says.

The purpose of the document is the export by second-tier banks of cash Russian rubles from the country to convert them into a non-cash form and replenish their correspondent accounts in foreign banks.

It is planned that the decree will be valid until January 1, 2024.

The document is posted on the Open NLA website until June 5.

A similar resolution was adopted on December 28, 2022, when banks were allowed a one-time export of rubles.

On March 14, 2022, Kazakhstan introduced a ban on the export of more than 10 thousand dollars of foreign currency and gold from the country.

On June 13, 2022, the decree was amended. It did not apply to the operations of the National Bank and the export of refined gold.
