Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Callas expressed her conviction that the security of Ukraine today is equivalent to the security of Europe. According to her, Estonia supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state in the context of Russia’s long-term armed aggression.
On the eve of the politician, together with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kaimo Kuusk, she visited the area of the Joint Forces Operation, informs Ukrainian website Ministry of Defense… During a trip to the Luhansk region, foreign guests got acquainted with the work and infrastructure of the checkpoint “Stanitsa Luhanska”, which is planned to be modernized.
“We are all partners and friends of Ukraine, and we must put an end to hostilities. Together with international partners, we worked to take concrete steps and protect Ukraine. Russia must know the cost and consequences of its aggression. Today I was present here to say: we we stand next to you “, – emphasized Callas.
She recalled that seven years after the start of the aggression and as long as necessary, Estonia will help Ukraine, because its security is the security of Europe. The politician also admitted that she was amazed at the level at which Ukrainians are ready to protect their citizens and take care of them.
The prime minister added that Estonia supports several projects aimed at improving the well-being of schoolchildren and ensuring equal opportunities in education in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This, in particular, the provision of the Internet for two villages and the provision of humanitarian aid to low-income families.
In the area of the OOS, the foreign delegation examined the infrastructure of the “Happiness” checkpoint and got acquainted with the work and capabilities of the Center for the provision of administrative services.
The Deputy Commander of the Operation, Major General Eduard Moskalev, briefed the Estonian delegation on the security situation and, on behalf of the commander, handed Callas a memo with the JFO symbols.
Recall: lawyer and former member of the European Parliament Kaya Kallas received the post of Prime Minister in January 2021 and became the first woman in history to head the Estonian government… The politician is 43 years old, she is fluent in Estonian, Russian, Finnish and French.
