KAWS: A Monumental Exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario

KAWS will be exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario this fall, making its debut at a Canadian art gallery, and will bring Brian Donnelly’s famous “giant” statues and paintings.

The exhibition is curated by Julian Cox, Vice President and Chief Curator of the AGO. He will exhibit more than 70 of KAWS’ creations from the past 20 years, including renowned monumental statues, realistic art installations, and works in bronze, wood, stainless steel, and canvas. In addition, a collection of shoes, cereal boxes, album covers and plush toys made up of a loveseat made in collaboration with Campana Brothers will also appear in the exhibition.

Julian Cox said: “KAWS reminds us that art can be many things at the same time, such as priceless, practical, commercial, beautiful, familiar, provocative and funny.”

The exhibition will be open from September 27 to March 21, 2024. Interested readers may wish to pay more attention.
