At Kawazu Cherry Blossom Hill, located across from Daisen Garden Place in Hoki Town, Tottori Prefecture, the Kawazu Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom, although there were still a few. (As of February 12, 2024)
Kawazu-zakura is an early-blooming cherry tree that is characterized by its dark pink petals.
According to the Hoki Town Office, “This year, the best time to see the cherry blossoms is likely to be a little earlier than usual, from the end of February to the beginning of March.”
If the weather is nice, you can enjoy both Mt. Daisen and the Kawazu cherry blossoms visible through the trees.
Daisen Garden Place and Chibikko Hiroba are also nearby, so it’s a good idea to take a drive and check them out.

Kawazu cherry blossom hill
Kawazu Cherry Blossom Hill is located across from Daisen Garden Place in Hoki Town, Tottori Prefecture.
This year, in mid-February, there was a warm day with temperatures exceeding 20 degrees Celsius, comparable to those from early April to late May, so it seems that the flowers bloomed a little earlier than usual.
The cherry trees were apparently planted several years ago by the Beech Cultivation Society.

The cold weather has returned again since February 16th in the San’in region, where the temperature continues to be low, but spring is slowly approaching.
It would be nice to go for a drive on a nice day.
