“Kaupēn, my darling” announces an open-air night show in Sigulda

Experiencing the huge response of the audience this season, the concert performance “Kaupēn, mans mīļais” has announced the only summer open-air night performance on August 12 at the stage of Sigulda castle ruins.

The large-scale performance, in which the music opera of Jānis Lūsēns and Māra Zālīte is performed on stage by 35 music professionals, is planned to be even more impressive in the night performance. “We are grateful to the excellent team and the audience, who at the end of each performance, with standing statues, singing and a show of lights, allow us to feel the timeless nature of this almost prophetic work. These are emotions that transform, and everyone wants to become more real and better, ”says Aigars Dinsbergs, the producer of the show. He also warns that the Sigulda show will probably be the last chance to watch the joint work of both authors.

Siegfried Muktupāvels, who plays the role of the Poet in the production, notes: “This great collaboration between Jānis Lūsēns and Māra Zālīte is special to me and Sigulda also has a special place for me. I grew up there, I still live and know every place in this beautiful city. I am glad that Kaupena’s only summer show will take place in Sigulda, so I invite you to be with us and enjoy this spectacular performance. Recommend!”

It should be reminded that Raimonds Celms, an actor of the Latvian National Theater, takes on the role of Kaupena, Zigfrīds Muktupāvels is the poet, and Madara Gaile plays Kaupena’s beloved girl. Anmary, Zigurds Neimanis, Annija Putniņa, Inese Pabērza, Mārtiņš Kagainis, Elizabete Zagorska, Toms Kalderauskis, Edvards Grieze, Emīls Gilučs, Artūrs Biķernieks also take part in the concert performance.
