One of the largest Czech retail chains has announced a big news. Kaufland wants to bring something that works great in Germany to the Czech market. It is a so-called online marketplace, in other words Marketplace.

With this move, Kaufland wants to significantly expand its offer. It is not a classic e-shop, as we already know them very well. However, this market will offer technology and space to anyone who wants to sell something. These are mainly smaller merchants who don’t have their own strong online store, but still want to offer their products in this way.
Kaufland has already launched a great campaign in which he tries to conquer these merchants and lure them to his Marketplace. At the same time, it is nothing more than a strategy that has allowed the Internet giant Amazon to grow out of all proportion. However, it does not work in the Czech Republic and Kaufland certainly sets itself the goal of being able to replace it in this sense.
The Kaufland market has also become extremely popular in Germany, where it faces competition from Amazon. With 32 million visitors, it is one of the most popular sales platforms on the market. We have similar, if not greater, ambitions.
It will start soon
Kaufland Market will practically resemble an online store. It will have a unified environment, but hundreds of different sellers will sell on it. Due to Kaufland’s pan-European presence, it can be expected that sellers from all countries will be connected and foreigners will be able to sell here and domestic ones elsewhere.
Everything should start working for customers next year. The offer should mainly consist of non-food consumer goods, then various accessories, technology or even clothes.
