Kaufland is launching a fantastic new product. It’s never been here before, it’s great

Kaufland is one of the most popular retail chains in the Czech Republic, although in recent years it has been somewhat overshadowed by its more dynamic sister, Lidl, which belongs to the same German company. It was this discounter that was the first to bring various innovations to the Czech market, and others usually copied them sooner or later.

A new business model

This time around, however, it’s Kaufland, who will soon be rolling out a major innovation that’s working fantastically in Germany. It is nothing more than an online marketplace, the so-called Marketplace.

You might think that nowadays everyone has an e-shop or an online store, including Lidl. But the market that Kaufland intends to launch represents something different, even if at first glance it might seem like another online store.

However, the Marketplace is not a classic e-shop, where it would be just a merchant offering goods to customers and providing all services, such as orders, deliveries, warehouses, complaints, etc. The internet market, on the other hand, represents a neutral space where external traders can access and offer all your assets here together. The customer then gets a wide selection in one place and in one interface. As soon as the order is placed, the collaborating merchant will receive the information and will personally take care of the shipment.

At the same time, it is these markets that are experiencing the greatest growth in the world. Amazon, for example, grew up on this concept, but does not operate in the Czech Republic. Although smaller markets exist to some extent, perhaps Kaufland will promote this concept among the general public.

Everything will be possible there

It is doing very well in Germany. It has 32 million visitors and is one of the most popular places where people shop on the internet. On the internal market, he would like to achieve something similar, perhaps even greater, given the still low competition.

Kaufland has already started recruiting merchants in its market. Its offers are used by those who do not have their own e-shop, but also by those who already manage one, but are looking for another point of sale. Interest in cooperation from Czech businessmen is said to be great. The Marketplace is therefore expected to start working for customers next year. There will be all kinds of things up for grabs, pretty much anything you can think of, be it electronics, technology, fashion, tools, appliances, etc.
