The ban on Sunday trading becomes a fiction. Solidarity is furious, the government is silent

Kaufland already at the end of May this year, he informed that due to the increase in popularity trade online in all branches introduces the possibility of using postal services. It should be noted, however, that the chain only watched the development of the situation and did not decide to open its stores on non-trading Sundays – until now.

Kaufland opens some stores on Sundays

– Due to the constantly growing number of stores opened on Sundays by competitors, Kaufland, as one of the last market participants, decided to open selected stores also on non-trading Sundays, starting from September 5 – she told the service HandelExtra.pl Maja Szewczyk, director of the corporate communication department at Kaufland Polska.

Recall that Lidl, which, like Kaufland, belongs to the German Schwarz Group, also announced the opening of some stores on non-trading Sundays. Some points of contact have been granted the status of post offices and will also be opened on all Sundays starting from September 5.

Postal services have already been introduced by, among others, Polo Market, Stokrotka, Lewiatan and Ladybird.

However, the Sunday trading ban may be tightened. At the end of July, a draft law sealing the trade ban was submitted to the Sejm. According to the draft amendment, only postal points of contact within the meaning of the Postal Law Act of 23 November 2012, in which postal activity will prevail, could be open on non-trading Sundays.
