Katulampa Dam Siaga 3, Jakarta Residents Asked to Be Alert

Katulampa Dam enter standby state III. The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has asked residents living along the river to be aware of the potential for flooding.

BPBD recorded that the water level in the Katulampa Dam reached 110 cm at 14.12 WIB, today, Friday (17/12).

“Good afternoon, we BPBD informs that at 14.12 WIB, the height of the Katulampa Weir is 110 cm, it is on alert status. 3. Residents along riverbanks are advised to be alert and careful of flood alerts,” quoting the Jakarta BPBD Twitter.

At 15.00 WIB, the water level was reported to have dropped to 90cm. However, it remains on standby III.

BPBD also reported an increase in water level at the Sunter Hulu Monitoring Post.

“We, the DKI Jakarta BPBD informs that at 15.00 WIB, the height of the Sunter Hulu Monitoring Post is 210 cm, it is on alert status.

So far, the Head of the Data and Information Center of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Mohammad Insaf, admitted that he had not received any reports of puddles.

However, the community, especially on the banks of the river, should be aware of the potential for flooding.
