From Livadeia, the candidate for the president of PaSoK, Michalis Katrinis, characterized the initiative based on the universal demand of democratic citizens for the creation of a large faction, a party of power that will inspire and mobilize the citizens, as a national and social necessity.
“Those who say, in words, that they will defeat Mr. Mitsotakis should know that the citizens have very high demands. They will not come to PaSoK just because PaSoK has collapsed and New Democracy is rapidly deteriorating. They require a large faction with political principles and programmatic commitments that will concern the Greek people and their problems.”
Michalis Katrinis pointed out that some in PaSoK avoid meaningful dialogue, avoid taking a position on the real problems of the citizens.
There is no discussion on this.
No one is saying that the 3.5 million citizens who turned their backs on the entire political system in the European elections and did not vote, simply because they had nothing to vote for, will return to the ballot box and trust us.
PaSoK must say with whom it is and with whom it is not.
Will it leave untouched the cartels that have built up in the economy, with profiteering eroding households and businesses and the state having lost its regulatory and interventionist role in favor of consumers?
Will he speak names?
Will he take a stand for high energy prices? I propose a state-owned company that will develop RES, produce cheap electricity, and strengthen the competition that currently does not exist.
In Greek-Turkish relations, the pressure from the foreign factor to make some concessions, to give something to Turkey in order to remain in the Western camp, is a given.
I have taken a clear position. No discount, no concession. What are the others saying? Shouldn’t they say something about all this?
Is it possible that PaSoK exists to serve the aims of the foreign factor and does not touch or dare not speak about the cartel conditions in the Greek economy?
I’m talking about Justice everywhere, for strengthening the role and powers of the independent Authorities that will take over the powers of the central government in order to stop the demonstration of regime mentality, cover-up, authoritarianism.
I am talking about a special tax regime for young families, for young entrepreneurs, especially in rural and mountainous areas where the demographic problem is acute.
I’m talking about regional development, for a new production model, to finance production units, only they don’t exist today, so that the countryside can be revitalized.
I am talking about a food sufficiency plan for the country that today imports vegetables and products that it once produced in quantities.
For all these and many other issues concerning the citizens, the country and the faction, I speak clearly and with proposals.
So let’s leave the evasions and talk concretely, because PaSoK is not going to have a future with empty words and wishful thinking.
And if there is a debate, it should be real and substantial and not held in a protected environment to cover the lack of seats or possible hidden agendas.
