PaSoK “cannot be a small and medium-sized party that will fight for the second place” pointed out Michalis Katrinis speaking to MEGA and talking about a PaSoK that “can govern, that can provide solutions to problems such as precision and change of the structure of the Greek economy”.
As the candidate president of the party pointed out: “The PaSoK that Andreas Papandreou bequeathed to us is a party of power that always set high goals and expressed broader social forces.”
Then, the PASoK MP referring to the situation prevailing in the field of energy and the burdens borne by every household: “Mr. Mitsotakis, in his meeting with the President of the Republic, discovered that there is a problem with the energy market. This problem will be seen and what the citizens will suffer in a few days in the bills. The issue is that Mr. Mitsotakis behaves as a visitor and commentator in the country while he is Prime Minister”.
He added: “The cartel that controls and shapes energy prices is his own creation. And most importantly: he avoids doing anything that would displease this cartel and set a limit, such as imposing a profit ceiling on the wholesale energy market. In Greece we were told that the energy market must be liberalized in order to have cheaper electricity. This did not happen, the opposite happened. In order for a market to work, there must be no cartels that exist here and determine everything and there must be conditions of competition that do not even exist here by reason.”
Finally, Michalis Katrinis made special reference to the reluctance of the government to deal with the problem of price increases in sectors such as shipping, since its logic is that it should not intervene in the market.
