“Thessaloniki and Macedonia are for many a flag of opportunity. For me, it is the autonomous and strong pole of regional development in Northern Greece”, emphasized the candidate for the President of PaSoK, Mr. Michalis Katrinis, speaking at a gathering of citizens in Thessaloniki.
Mr. Katrinis made a special reference to the Prespa Agreement pointing out that “some people remember Macedonia only when they are going to grab the vote of the citizens of Macedonia. However, they swallow the challenges and redemptive references from the state of Skopje that remain and are strengthened. Justifying, thus, our concerns and objections to the Prespa agreement and the gaps we had identified”.
He also referred to the “methodology that is being attempted to grant the TIF space to private, business interests”, saying: “The perspective for the creation of a new space for the International Exhibition of Thessaloniki, modern, large and functional with the simultaneous redevelopment of the current TIF space in the center of the city to become a Metropolitan Park, has frozen. Why? Because their goal is not the Metropolitan Park but to give the current site of the TIF to private interests”.
“Their mind is on Real Estate. Because this is the development model of Mr. Mitsotakis. A parasitic model of development for the few, for the big economic interests”, he added, emphasizing emphatically that “he is the only one who does not remain silent, he dares to say things by their name”, he added.

Regarding PaSoK and its role in the opposition, he stated that “in order to come to us, they need to see three things: seriousness, credibility and a structured governance proposal. However, they must immediately see an effective and serious opposition. Opposition cannot be made by those who had the opportunity to do so and did not do so effectively. Opposition cannot be made by those who say nothing, those who are afraid to say something that will displease the powerful, the big interests. Opposition cannot be made by those who leave open the possibility of PaSoK cooperating with Mr. Mitsotakis”.
“As far as I am concerned, either as President of the PASOK parliamentary group or as a parliamentary representative, I spoke about the cartels that control the economy, the market and energy, without fear and clearly. Because I don’t owe anyone anything. Because no one is holding me”, he concluded.
