PaSoK candidate Michalis Katrinis has been in Chios since the morning.
Mr. Katrinis has consecutive meetings with the Metropolitan of Chios Mr. Markos, the Association of Mastic Producers, the Association of Retired Sailors and he will also visit the Hospital of Chios.
“Chios symbolizes unspoiled Greece, island Greece. This Greece must come to light. Through the initiatives of the PASOK in the future that lead to the building of a Great Front, we are creating the conditions for the country to finally have an Island Policy. So that the islanders feel like equal citizens”, stressed Michalis Katrinis from the uninhabited island.
At the same time, he placed special emphasis on health issues, pointing out that “public health faces enormous problems not only in mainland Greece but in the island regions.
Never before have the hospitals on our islands been so understaffed. They operate at a marginal level.
The government’s response is to open a front with doctors, shifting its responsibilities to them.
The measures announced by the Minister of Health and presented as incentives for doctors working in hospitals on the islands. they will prove ineffective once again.
A government that does not believe in public health cannot provide solutions and support the National Health System.
The islands don’t only need doctors in the summer. They want doctors all year round, for the people who live there and guard Thermopylae.
There must be brave and substantial wage and rating incentives for doctors serving in island hospitals.
The incentives should be extended to the housing sector, initially with a housing allowance and then with the construction of houses by the Building Infrastructures.”
Michalis Katrinis, referring to the elections for the election of the President of PaSoK, was clear:
“Only a Grand Front can guarantee and enforce the restoration of the National Health System on new and modern terms.
With free and universal public health services for all citizens.
This cannot be done by small and medium-sized parties that do not threaten Mr. Mitsotakis.
