According to the organizers of “Delfi”, the concert program includes the world’s favorite songs about winter, space and dreams in Katrīna Gupalo’s arrangements for voice and piano.
The new concert program is inspired by Katrīna’s love for winter and its exhilarating coldness, dreamy holiday season and meditative silence, where you can finally hear your thoughts, let your dream flight, fantasies, open up to the sky and feel the space, the organizers report.
The concerts will feature romantic and melancholic songs such as “One Day I’ll Fly Away” by Nicholas Kidman, a space theme with the famous David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and “Elton John’s” Rocket Man, “and the sparkling joy energy of Alisha Que and Lazy. Minelli in New York songs, as well as pieces by Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, without which no winter ball is imaginable. There will also be Katrīna Gupalo’s own compositions and other songs in Latvian, and this is probably the only concert program in Latvia where you can also hear winter mood songs in French.
The concerts will also feature Imants Kalniņš’s song “Wrap Your Hands”, which was especially loved by the audience during Katrīna Gupalo’s summer concert tour “Velvet Smell of the Butterfly” in 2021, which was dedicated to the music of the legendary composer and was performed throughout Latvia.
Katrīna Gupalo says: “Now that none of us can be completely sure about the realization of any plans, the concert planning process has become much more spontaneous. I feel the same way with listeners who are passionate about taking action while they are, because there is no guarantee that this will be possible for as long as possible. how tickets are sold at ticket sales points and how culturally hungry Latvian listeners are! “
Currently, six tour concerts have been announced. The next concert of the “Star Touch” tour will take place at the Liepāja Latvian Society House on December 29, followed by concerts at the Doles Folk House (January 14), at the Culture Center “Bergi” (January 21, information on ticket sales coming soon), at Luznava Manor (January 23) and Valmiera Cultural Center (February 12).
