The singer Katrīna Gupalo created a new sound for Raimonds Pauls’ song “On the Last Page”, in whose performance the “painful and dramatic message” of Jānis Peter’s text is especially emphasized, the musician’s representatives informed.

“This autumn is very different from others – this year we especially feel the departure of the old world and say goodbye to it with sadness, waiting and believing that after a hard winter, spring and new life will come. It was through this song that I wanted to express what we all experience and feel every day during this terrible time of pandemic, ”shared Katrīna Gupalo.

“After a beautiful summer, in which I sang many concerts dedicated to the music of Imants Kalniņš, I decided that autumn would come with the sounds of Raimonds Pauls.

Autumn Maestro compositions always sound very special – the songs “Ances romance” and “Don’t come to me in autumn” have been in my repertoire for a long time, now I add a third – the song “About the last page”. “

In creating the music video, the creative team relied on intuition: “We got in the cars and drove without a specific plan to find the most suitable place for filming. In many other places the leaves of the trees were green and there was no evidence of the mood encoded in the song. Thus, driving where the eyes show, bends through the forests and meadows of Krimulda region, we suddenly came to the outskirts of one country house – a paradise like this song. The extremely beautiful and bright vinegar trees and the boulder wall that grew rich in wine created a perfect oasis for making music videos. We met Rasma, the sincere hostess of the house, and with her beloved blessing, a music video was made in this special place. Thank her for that! ”

The song “On the Last Page” was recorded in Latvian and Russian by “Wolk Recording Studios”, its producer is Aleksandrs Volks, and the producer Oriole also participated in the recording. Music video created by Kaspars Kambars. The costume was created by the brand “Public Makes Image”, make-up artist – Anita Intaite.

The next concerts of Katrīna Gupalo will take place on October 30 at the Culture Palace “Ziemeļblāzma”, on November 20 and 12 at the Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga, and on November 28 and 26 at the “Zeit” Concert Hall in Līgatne.
