Katie Taylor retains super lightweight title ‘in a dirty way’
for 16 November 2024 10:40
Katie Taylor has successfully defended her super lightweight world title. The Irish boxer defeated Amanda Serrano from Puerto Rico in Texas (USA) after a unanimous decision by the jury. Although Serrano did not agree.
Katie Taylor is the boxing star who was challenged twice by Delfine Persoon. The first time she won very narrowly against our compatriot.
Last night Taylor boxed in support of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. The 38-year-old Irish woman won against Amanda Serrano after 10 rounds, the jury unanimously declared her the winner.
Serrano disagreed. Things got heated, resulting in a cut on her eyebrow after a punch from Taylor.
The Irishwoman was accused of deliberately handing out headbutts and boxing “in a dirty way”.

Taylor said boxing can be tough at times, and you have to be ready for those moments. She had already dominated Serrano in 2022 in the lower category.
“I really don’t care what’s said,” Taylor responded. “I fought her twice and won twice.”
Serrano hit Taylor more often, but could not convince the jury.
