Katie Price says placement of disabled son is ‘heartbreaking’

Katie Price has decided to move her son Harvey to a residential college, according to a report.

Harvey, 18, suffers from partial blindness, Prader-Willi syndrome, autism, and learning and behavioral difficulties due to a rare genetic condition.

Price said he would teach him skills that will help him lead a more independent life and that he will “learn to grow up”.

The couple have spent six months visiting colleges for children with autism and learning disabilities and they hope Harvey can start their first choice – a college in Gloucestershire – later this year.

She told The Sun, “It breaks my heart. I don’t want him to think I’m getting rid of him.

“This is her chance to live an independent life, learn skills and socialize with people other than me.

“I try to get him used to not being there all the time. But he’s going to call on his iPad and say, “Mom, I need you,” and I run over to him.

“When it’s three hours away, it will break my heart because I won’t be able to make it because I have to juggle it with my other children. “

Harvey is Price’s son with former footballer Dwight Yorke, but she raised him alone for much of his life.
