A poignant story Katie Piper certainly knows most of the regular observers of show business. At the end of March 2008, the British model went to an internet cafe to read an e-mail from an ex-partner she had broken up with a few days earlier, because he had used violence against her and threatened to mutilate her. At some point an unknown man stood in her way and poured sulfuric acid on her, causing her serious injuries. During the investigation it was established that it was the model’s ex-boyfriend – Daniel Lynch – hired a striker to “punish” the girl for having dumped him.
After undergoing numerous plastic surgeries (over 400 of them!), Katie Piper revealed her dramatic story to the world, which attracted the attention of international media, and her fate was described in subsequent documentaries broadcast on television. She herself became an inspiration to other women, for whom she founded a foundation helping victims of domestic violence, and also published several motivational books. In September this year. premiered another – “A Little Bit of Faith: Hopeful Affirmations for Every Day of the Year“.
