Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Sad news came from the technology industry. Katie Cotton, known as the right-hand man of the late Apple founder, Steve Jobs, has died.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Katie,” said an Apple representative, quoted from YahooFinance, Tuesday (11/4/2023).
“He is an extraordinary person and has contributed a lot to the company during his 2 decades at Apple,” stated the official statement.
Cotton is the Vice President of Communications at Apple. He worked for the Cupertino giants for 18 years, from 1996 to 2014.

He is the figure behind Apple’s PR and marketing power which has been known to be ‘out of the box’. The current strength of the Apple brand is none other than Cotton’s big contribution.
Referred to as the late Jobs’ right-hand man, Cotton was a handful of people who reported and brainstormed directly with the Apple founder.
Not only in the professional realm, Cotton was also known as a figure who guarded and protected Jobs desperately when the legend’s health condition was critical.
Cotton finally left the company after 2 years held by the new Apple CEO, Tim Cook, who has remained in office until now.
During Apple’s difficult times, Cotton’s steel fists were able to carry the company up and become the most valuable technology brand in the world.
In their obituary, the family said Cotton rested in peace on April 6. She is an iconic figure for women in the technology industry, especially in the PR and marketing sectors.
