With 54.4% of the vote, compared to 45.6% of her contender, Lee Zeldin, Kathy Hochul is the alleged winner of the New York Governorate, becoming the first woman to be elected to this position in this state. During her victory speech, Hochul thanked her family for supporting her during her long absences due to her political life, noting that New Yorkers “made their voices heard.”
