In an open post on Twitter, Griffin reveals that she has had lung cancer.
– I have to tell you something. I have cancer. I’m about to have surgery to remove half of my left lung. Yes, I have lung cancer despite the fact that I have never smoked, the star opens.
She adds that the future still looks bright, and that the period of illness will hopefully be short-lived.
– The doctors are very optimistic, as it is stage one and stays in my left lung. Hopefully there will be no more chemotherapy and radiation treatment after this, and breathing will work normally. I should be back again after a month or less, she writes further.
Griffin adds that the outcome could have been very different if she had not been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
In conclusion, she makes the following appeal to the fans:
– Please, go to regular doctor visits. It can save their lives.
Griffin made her breakthrough in the 90s, when she got a half-hour stand-up program on the American media house HBO. During this time she also landed a role in the TV series «Suddenly Susan», along with Brooke Shields (56).
