ShowbizKathleen Aerts turned out to be hidden behind the Mermaid’s mask in ‘The Masked Singer’, and that led to an emotional reunion with sleuth Karen Damen. Later the two also met with Kristel Verbeke: the original K3 was together again after a long time. “That was very emotional,” Kathleen tells Qmusic.

Kathleen has been living in South Africa for five years now. During ‘The Masked Singer’, Karen revealed that she had actually had no contact with ‘the blonde from K3’ all this time. “I have hardly spoken to her since the end of K3. Now and then a short message, but that’s it. ” So there was a lot to talk about when Kathleen emerged from under that mask.

Q-voice Dorothee Dauwe was enthusiastic: “I must honestly say, I thought those photos of you on Instagram were better than the ‘Friends’ reunion! How many hours did you catch up? ”

“It was very emotional,” says Kathleen. “We talked about everything, because of course we had to catch up for a few years. At around 1:30 in the morning, the restaurant manager kindly asked us to leave the restaurant. (laughs) We couldn’t catch up. ” Fortunately for the ladies, the recording of ‘The Masked Singer’ was completed a while ago and they were at least allowed to cuddle each other. “We have agreed that as soon as the corona crisis is over, they will have to visit my house. And then they only have to stay for two weeks to catch up. ”
