The representative to the Chamber for the Green Alliance Katherine Miranda responded to the criticism that the National Government has launched regarding the media’s reading of the property bill and sent a clear message to the president Gustavo Petro.

Through her social networks, the congresswoman was emphatic in ensuring that “the problem is not the media”, as the Colombian president wanted to show with his criticisms, “but the repeal of Law 1995 of 2019 proposed by the property bill.”

“If these limits only apply to municipalities that have not done a cadastral update, it is fine for one time only. It must be clarified in the project. But we cannot allow the rule that establishes that the limit of the unified property tax is only the CPI, which for last year was 13.12%, to be replaced by one that for strata 1-2 would reach up to 50% if done general”wrote.

“One thing is the cadastral update, which does need limits, and another thing is the property tax. Be careful, what cannot happen is that after the update these values are maintained permanently as suggested by the bill,” the congresswoman complemented.
