Kate Winslet: – Answers what “everyone” has been wondering

In the spectacular film adaptation of the ship’s tragic story “Titanic”we will see one with Leonardo DiCaprio (48) and Kate Winslet (46) as Jack and Rose – two people of different social classes who fell in love on the passenger liner’s maiden voyage in April 1912.

The 1997 film won a total of 11 Oscar statuettes, and there’s hardly a movie buff who hasn’t seen the magnificent drama.

Both Winslet and DiCaprio had adventurous careers after “Titanic,” but now Winslet lifts the veil, saying she still remembers the disparaging comments she received in the cold water of the highly decorated film.

He does so on the “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast.

– He was too fat to fit

Some of the many ‘Titanic’ fans believed that DiCaprio’s character had to make amends with his life as there was no place for him in the door that Winslet captured after the sinking.

This led to heated debate as to whether “Jack” could have been saved if Winslet had moved a bit and made room for him, or if he was simply too bulky for that to be possible.

According to Winslet herself, she was subjected to massive “fat shaming” after viewers saw a frozen, wet DiCaprio sink to the bottom.

– People were so mean – I wasn’t fat at all! Today I would have reacted completely differently. Then I would have objected and replied that I do not accept being treated like this. What the critics and fans were doing – no, it was outright bullying.

In the podcast, the 46-year-old claims that neither himself nor Jack could be saved.

– Once and for all; yes, there was room for him in the door, but then he wouldn’t be able to float – so it wasn’t a viable idea.
