Although it was created to treat patients with type 2 diabetes, Ozempic became popular over time due to its role as a weight-loss drug. Pharmacies were running out of supplies because people, well advised by their doctors or heeding the siren song, flocked to buy it.
However, not all that glitters is gold. This is what 26-year-old model Lottie Moss, sister of actress Kate Moss, has said on the podcast ‘Dream On’. The young woman, who has acknowledged that among her closest circle these injections were “very common” and that she only used them for two weeks, was close to death.
It all started with an insecurity about her physical condition. “I wasn’t happy,” she said. Aware that the drug is not indicated “for weight loss for people who are not very large in size,” Moss embarked on the adventure. “I was taking doses intended for people who weigh 100 kilos or more and I weighed half that.”
Lottie weighed 60 kilos and, after just the first dose, she lost three and a half kilos. In just two weeks, the scales showed 52.5 kilograms. “That weight loss is not at all good for your health.” The consequences were not long in coming. She was unable to keep down food or water, so she decided to go to hospital, where she even suffered convulsions. “It was horrible. I just wanted to stop taking it.”

“I am not lying when I say that it was the worst decision of my life. I warn that if anyone is thinking of taking it, do not do it. I would rather die any day than take it again,” said the young woman, who received a response from a spokesperson for the manufacturer. “We recommend that all patients maintain close contact with their health care professional for a proper diagnosis, appropriate treatment, ongoing guidance and careful monitoring,” she stressed, emphasizing the non-prescription use that has been detected since it was launched on the market.
