Kate Midltone has sent an awkward e-mail to her friends asking them to address themselves by another name in a very polite way, the royal commentator has revealed.

The Duchess of Cambridge (38), whose full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, wrote this letter in 2008, two years before Prince William (38) received the filming of his longtime girlfriend.

There were rumors at the time that the prince, who was second in line to the British throne, was going to ask for his chosen hand and prepare him to become an official member of the royal family.

Although most of the friends were accustomed to address her as Kate, she was determined to return to a more formal address.

According to Sunday Express journalist Adam Helliker, Midltone has asked his friends to stop calling him Kate and to address him as Catherine.

Helliker writes, “Since Prince William’s engagement is now secure (even bookmakers no longer accept bets on whether it will happen), there are intriguing signs that Kate Middleton is preparing for her future role.”
