Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, held annually since 1877 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, England. Exclusive and prestigious, it brings together international stars… and the royal family. For Kate Middleton it is a regular appointment and this year there was no lack of it.
Kyrgios and Kate against the rules
With a century-old and noble history, Wimbledon has strict dress code rules when it comes to tennis players competing against each other. According to the stylistic protocol of the tournament, drawn up in the Victorian era, sportsmen are obliged to wear all white outfits, including underwear. Excessively prominent logos are also banned. It happens that the athletes are beaten by the organizers for some stylistic habit considered excessive. In this round it was the bad boy’s turn Nick Kyrgios, who showed up for a match with a couple of Air Jordan Low 1 with red details. Pecked in the press room, he replied: “I do what I want”. Nothing further from Kate Middleton who, as always, appeared very elegant, breaking through the hearts of the subjects. But, although there is no written regulation for the looks of guests, who are encouraged to dress in a chic and composed way, this year the Duchess has broken one of the dictates handed down orally.
The forbidden accessory
Kate Middleton attended three matches of the 2022 edition of Wimbledon, always choosing impeccable looks. To attend the men’s quarter-finals, on 5 July, the Duchess was accompanied by her husband, the principe William. With a light blue dress with white polka dots by Alessandra Rich, Kate is the embodiment of English bon-ton. Another day, another outfit. For the women’s final, Middleton amazed with yellow. The ankle-length dress by Roksanda Ilincicalready worn during the Caribbean tour (IT CONCERNS all the pictures), is a touch of color that does not go unnoticed. And this is where Middleton tripped … on the hat. In fact, on the stands the Duchess was photographed with a showy straw hat of L.K. Bennett. An accessory that guests should never wear, so as not to obscure the view of the people sitting behind them.
With his men in the final
For the men’s final, Kate Middleton redeemed herself, sporting a very pretty blue dress paired with two-tone pumps, both by Alessandra Rich. Beside her there were William and the principe George, making his Wimbledon debut.
