A controversy has been thrown in the last hours on Princess Eugenia, guilty of having published on social a photo of the Jubilee in which there are some members of the royal family, except Kate Middleton (despite being present next to the others). Various hypotheses immediately interspersed with each other, trying to understand the reason why Eugenia of York made this gesture.
Eugenia of York, the gesture towards Kate Middleton: the controversy
Although there continues to be that natural detachment between the Royals and the rest of the world, in recent years social networks have made even those who seemed “unattainable” take a step forward.
Social media, however, have two sides of the same coin: one positive and one negative. For the royal family, especially, even a small escaping detail can be fatal, as users are ready to search for the needle in the haystack. This time it was Eugenia di York’s turn, who didn’t really let any detail slip away: on her profile of her instagram, which has a million and a half followers, she published a series of souvenir photos of the days of the Jubilee for the 70th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth.
“Thank you, your majesty, grandmother, for 70 years of service, selflessness and dedication. You are such a bright light to us all“, Wrote the Princess to remember memorable days. And again: “Just a final roundup of some epic moments of the special weekend that I am honored to have been a part of”, she wrote as a caption to the beautiful shots.
Unfortunately, however, one photo in particular captured the attention of the followers who promptly commented asking her why she had cut Kate Middleton from a photo of the Royals overlooking the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The real picture, in fact, sees the Duchess of Cambridge next to William, but in the one published by Eugenie of York there was room for only a few family members.
Eugenia of York, because she “cut out” Kate Middleton
One hypothesis after another, day after day, to try to understand the reason behind the gesture of Eugenie of York against Kate Middleton; some Instagram users immediately lashed out at the Princess, accusing her of envy or even hate for the Duchess, but in the end many other people came to her defense who tried to explain what might have really happened.
In fact, someone was keen to explain how difficult it is on Instagram to crop images or publish them entirely, especially if they occur in certain sizes. The solution of those who believe that Eugenie of York is in good faith, therefore, is that he did not do it on purpose, but that the application automatically cut the two sides of the photo. The more attentive, in fact, also noticed that Kate was not the only one absent: the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, present in the original photo, was also cut.
Both, Kate and Camilla, were at the ends of the frame, and for this reason the solution to the mystery seems to have nothing to do with the evil intentions of Princess Eugenia, therefore unjustly accused.
