Character Max Mayfield (a role by Sadie Sink) listens to it on her Walkman in the first episode of the brand new fourth season and also in episode 4 the song gets a star role. With major consequences, because ‘Running Up That Hill’ almost immediately ended up at number one in the American iTunes charts. The song also found a new lease of life in the United Kingdom, where it reached eighth place in the ‘Official Charts’.
