On Sunday in Paris, the qualifying round for the Roland Garros tournament started. Katarzyna Kawa, the 131st tennis player in the world, was to perform in them. Unexpectedly, her name disappeared from the list of applications. As the Polish competitor informed, she received a positive test for coronavirus infection. – “Unfortunately, due to a positive COVID-19 test, I was withdrawn from the tournament in Paris. My first test was negative, the sample taken 40 hours later turned out to be positive. I have no symptoms, I feel very well. I will spend the next few days in quarantine and then I will repeat the test “- Kawa wrote on Instagram.

However, the Polish woman could not come to terms with the result of the coronavirus test. For this reason, after returning to Poland, she decided to perform one more test. As it turned out, she received a negative test result which confirmed that she was healthy and was wrongly excluded from competing for the Roland Garros tournament.
– “Due to the fact that I was not completely convinced about the effectiveness of this test, I made another test in Poland. It turned out to be NEGATIVE! Within 5 days, 2 out of 3 tests are negative. I was healthy and I’ve always been. The tests are not 100 percent reliable, as we all know about, “Kawa wrote on Instagram, posting a photo of the test with a negative result.
– “On the one hand, it is a relief, on the other hand, it is a huge disappointment, anger and sadness. The chance taken and the effort put into it hurts cruelly. The tournament protocols say: one positive test – withdrawal from the tournament and isolation. in one test, if it is commonly known that it is not 100 percent effective? I CANNOT AND I WILL FIGHT FOR A CHANGE “- added the Polish tennis player.
