Stefanos Kasselakis does not intend to let the eavesdropping case go out of the news, especially now that the Supreme Court “acquitted” the government and did not associate EYP with the illegal Predator software.
“After yesterday’s black day for justice in our country, the time has come for relentless questions,” said the president of SYRIZA in a new post, and then asked Kyriakos Mitsotakis, since the justice’s decision “represents the truth”, to provide answers to specific questions about persons and situations.
According to the leader of the official opposition, “even if the announcement of the Supreme Court prosecutor is not despicable, as the country’s legal world shouts, it reflects the truth. I call on the Prime Minister to respond:
1. If the government did not use Predator (as happened in the other countries where the malware was used), then, Mr. Mitsotakis, WHO is using it against the political, journalistic and financial world of the country?
Is Greece a wild vine where some are watching everyone and the Greek government doesn’t care?
2. So let’s assume that all the objectives of the EYP were legally monitored. So half of the government officials were being monitored legally.
So your cabinet, Mr. Mitsotakis, is made up of persons suspected of national security who need monitoring? Target 5046c Kostis Hatzidakis is… nationally dangerous? Do you have a government or cabinet of spies?
3. According to the announcement of the Supreme Court, it was legal to monitor all the “goals” of the EYP, thus also the monitoring of the former head of GEETHA, Mr. Konstantinos Floros.
Mr. Mitsotakis, clarify whether the head of the armed forces was a person suspicious of the country’s national security. If so, why did you choose him? If not, why was the EYP monitoring him?
4. WHO legally watches in this country besides EYP? Is anyone else being legitimized that we don’t know about? Who took control of the EYP? The Prime Minister.
Who did she hand her keys to? To the nephew Mr. Dimitriadis, in the office next door in Maximos. So, even if what Ms. Adelini claims were true, the responsibility returns to the same room, to the same persons. So the Areios Pagos ruled that Maximus was legally watching his ministers and his opponents!
But if it is not Maximos who was monitoring half of the political-economic system of the country, then Mr. Mitsotakis, another inexorable question arises for you: Who is monitoring this place?
All of the above shows that the scandal is so deep and the government so connected to it, that any attempt to wash it away spreads the stain of responsibility even further.
This dystopia is not normality. It’s a dark parenthesis. With the efforts of all democratic citizens, Justice will prevail.
