SYRIZA will request a preliminary investigation into the rioting in Tempi, according to what party president Stefanos Kasselakis said in an interview with SKAI on Saturday morning.
“As soon as the case file arrives we will proceed to the next step, it goes without saying. It is a huge national issue that shows the lack of rule of law,” he said speaking from the port of Chios, where he is in the context of his tours of the Aegean islands. It’s time to find out who gave the order for the bottling,” said Mr. Kasselakis, accusing the prime minister of lying.
“The prime minister said that there is no collusion. Another lie. An unacceptable, chilling statement. And this is another reason to move on to the next step,” he said.
“He must apologize to the families of the victims and he must expel the MEP candidate who said we killed them all. This statement is shameful and for it to remain on the ND’s European ballot means that it expresses the party and Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Kyriakos Mitsotakis wants us all complicit in this crime,” he added.
Asked if he will ask for the support of PASoK for the preliminary investigation, the president of SYRIZA replied: “If PASOK wishes to support it, he knows he can contact me.”
“We don’t want any Spartan votes”
Online from Chios where he is, as part of his tour of the islands, Mr. Kasselakis reiterated that SYRIZA does not want any votes from the Spartans.
