Kasselakis in “87”: Choose a candidate and raise the issue of leadership directly and publicly – 2024-08-23 02:40:52

A scathing post against the 8 members of the Political Secretariat (who today severely criticized him) and consequently against the “87” members of the Central Committee, was published by Stefanos Kasselakis. “Anyone who wants us to count again is welcome,” he emphasizes, challenging the internal party opposition to put forward a motion of censure.

“Where do they belong?”

“How can officials of a party not want – or at least not wish in an announcement – the entry of their President into the Parliament?” he wonders and continues:

“How can officials of a party not contribute to the payment of the salaries of party workers, when they know the dire financial situation of the party?

How can – still – cadres be missing in the fiery destruction and post pictures of their villages, while we were in the field for five days and from structure to structure?”

“I would call on the 87, instead of walking out of meetings issuing texts that divide us, to look within themselves and reflect on where they belong emotionally, politically and morally. To SYRIZA?Or to some party that has not yet been made and they are waiting for the signal to leave en masse in the name of an interwoven nebulous “Great Center Left”? Let them decide now. With dignity,” he says characteristically.

The challenge

He then challenges them to a motion of censure:

“If, again, they want another SYRIZA, with the balance and immobility they were used to, let them choose a candidate and raise the issue of leadership directly and publicly. Now” he says and adds:

“It is the most honest thing they can do towards the people of SYRIZA. Let’s not trouble our world anymore. Don’t play with his anxiety.”

Pavlos Polakis

Stefanos Kasselakis emphasizes that Pavlos Polakis spoke on a “political basis” at today’s meeting and revealed that he will meet with him. Regarding the complaints against Athena Linou, he emphasized that he is investigating them personally and will decide “soberly” when he has “the complete facts”.

The Kasselakis post:

This morning I released an 11-minute video of SYRIZA’s proposals for civil protection.

We were processing them from the first moment of the devastating fire that reached the urban fabric of the capital. And I believe that these are substantial proposals that can help us break out of the five-year cycle of destruction, lost property and indignity.

As if they didn’t come out.

As if they were not said.

Because for almost a year our proposals have been overshadowed by an inter-party war without end.

Two months I was free from daily arrows in the back, to fight our fight, and the single-digit percentage of the polls, became 15% in the European elections. And this with minimal resources.

And then, the same again.

Until today, at the Political Secretariat, at a time when people across the country are disapproving of the Prime Minister and his Ministers, some once again made sure to give the Mitsotakis regime a breather.

I am not talking about Pavlos Polakis, who spoke on a political basis, and for whom the issue of Linos is open (which I am already investigating personally and will decide soberly when I have the full data). I will meet with Paul, however things turn out.

I am talking about the announcement – the departure of the 8 of the Political Secretariat who place themselves at 87.

An announcement and an attitude sad and certainly inferior to the circumstances.

They talk about decisions that “demean the party” and claim that I did not bring any proposal for the media. The truth is that for a party whose funding has been reduced from 8 million euros to 4.3 million and 4 million goes to the media, sustainability requires difficult decisions. But because there might be some solution that I hadn’t thought of, I asked the 8 in a previous meeting to bring an alternative plan for the media. Of course, they brought nothing.

But what can exist as an emergency solution at this time to pay the employees of the media, is the social contribution. I said today to the members of the P.G.: “contribute the maximum amount you can, and I will personally put in double the amount, in order to pay salary and leave allowance”.

They left and complained.

So what do they want? Explode the financial bomb I received in my hands?

With their instrumentalization of unpaid workers, why don’t we save them while we can? But when I lent money to pay for the gift, it was “disgrace to the party”.

In the second issue we discussed, 8 of the 87 took a position against the entry of the President of the party into the Parliament, because as they said “the issue feeds back introversion!”, while for the dozens of prefectural women who send requests for my entry into the Parliament, they write : “Especially when there is a factional operation, with pressure on a number of Prefectural Committees for identical decisions in favor of the resignation of the participants in the regional ballot”.

I have no personal interest in the matter. Because, while I recognize that in every party the entry of its president into the Parliament is of key importance, I do not want to put the ego in front. But I know what I would do in the place of the other runners-up, just as I know that I would not let the official opposition bow to any blackmail from anyone.

But the problem is elsewhere:

How can officials of a party not want – or even wish for an announcement – the entry of their President into the Parliament?

How can officials of a party not contribute to pay the salaries of party workers when they know the dire financial situation of the party?

How can – still – cadres be missing in the fiery destruction and post pictures of their villages, while we were in the field for five days and from structure to structure?

These can only happen in two cases:

When some people don’t feel the party, their party.

When some people don’t feel the president, their president.

Unfortunately, this is the big problem.

I would invite the 87, instead of walking out of meetings issuing texts that divide us, to look within themselves and reflect on where they belong emotionally, politically and morally.

To SYRIZA?

Or to some party that hasn’t yet been made and is waiting for the signal to leave en masse in the name of an interwoven nebulous “Great Center Left”?

Let them decide now.

With dignity.

If, again, they want another SYRIZA, with the balance and immobility they were used to, let them choose a candidate and raise the issue of leadership directly and publicly. Now.

It is the most honest thing they can do towards the world of SYRIZA. Let’s not trouble our world anymore. Don’t play with his anxiety.

For a whole year we have been trying, with our MPs and executives, with the new faces of the think tanks, with the children of the European ballot who made us proud, to build a New SYRIZA. The base, the citizens, the society, the modern Left.

With one goal in front: the callous, apathetic, corrupt Mitsotakis regime.

And every time I find a number in front of me. The 57, the 6+6, the 87, the 8 of 87.

I am sorry. I don’t have time – the party doesn’t have time, the country doesn’t have time for numbers and figures.

I entered politics alone, I am not a group leader, I have no guard, no inclination.

And I will not become President of a guard or trend.

I was elected President at the most difficult moment for SYRIZA-PS.

And I remain President, honoring the mandate given to me by the thousands of party members and trying every day to convince others to follow us, with my mistakes but with passion and strength, for a better life in our country.

My eyes are on the SYRIZA statutory conference in October. Because SYRIZA will either change into a modern party of its members and the citizens or it will sink definitively into the guards and the guards.

Anyone who wants to count again is welcome.

Personally, I would rather be allowed to face Tomorrow with dignity.
