Kasselakis: He announced a new party – “Open to the progressive world, you will name it” –

Continuous developments in SYRIZA after the episodic first day of the conference yesterday, Friday 8/11.

Stefanos Kasselakis left the party and this Saturday announced the establishment of a new party from his offices in Tavros.

“Yesterday there was a democratic earthquake” said Stefanos Kasselakis starting his speech. “Today a movement of democracy, free citizens, progress is being created.”

The ousted SYRIZA president arrived in Tavros shortly after 2.30pm with his husband Tyler Macbeth.

“I am here” he declared again on Saturday morning in his post on X, while he invited his supporters to a “rendezvous” at his offices in Tavros, where he is expected to make announcements.

Shortly after 13:00 over 500 people have gathered in Tavros, at the headquarters of St. Kasselakis, while Aris Spiliotopoulos, Evangelos Antonaros – who announced this morning his departure from SYRIZA -, Yiannis Voulgarakis, Nikos Karanikas, Thanasis Oikonomou, Theodora Tzakri, Alexandros Avlonitis, Rally Christidou and Thanos Moraitis.

Th. Tzakri: “How could we imagine that the barrel has no bottom”

“There is hope. We can find the way. On Monday we will announce our decisions” Theodora Tzakri said regarding the MPs, coming to the offices of Stefanos Kasselakis, while using the term “coordinates”.

“The SYRIZA of Gletsos, Svigos and Manzouranis is not SYRIZA. How could we imagine that the barrel has no bottom”, he added.

The second day of the conference in Gazi is underway

The second day of the extraordinary Congress of SYRIZA-PS is currently underway with the positions of the congressmen.

Yesterday, on the first day of the Congress, the nominations for the presidency of the party of: Apostolos Gletsos, Pavlos Polakis, Sokratis Famellos, Nikos Faradouris were approved as well as the text of the political decision.

After the departure of Stefanos Kasselakis, the focus is now on the independence of the MPs who are close to the Kasselakis side.

So far, their independence has been announced by the MP of Corfu, Alexandros Avlonitis, the MP of Kilkis, Petros Pappas, the MP of B3′ South Sector of Athens, Rallia Christidou and the MP of Halkidiki, Kyriaki Malama.
