Kasselakis: Ballot of progressive excellence against far-right ears – 2024-04-20 20:58:29

In the presence of former president Alexis Tsipras, who took the stage at the finale, on Friday afternoon (19/4) Stefanos Kasselakis presented the SYRIZA candidates for the June 9 European elections.

The former prime minister’s successor on the 7th floor of Koumoundourou began his speech with an allusion to PaSoK, describing it as “convenient party for the system” to which they attempted to concede the position of official opposition, but primarily attacked New Democracy both for its choices in the Euro-ballot and for its government work during the first year of its second term.

Stefanos Kasselakis supported the choice of appealing to the grassroots in order to choose his chosen ones and stated that “we have every reason to to brag about the ballot of progressive excellence against the ballot paper that caresses far-right ears, like Giorgos Autias, with junta slogans and golden approaches”.

At exactly the same length, he also underlined that “I am not Mitsotakis to keep Kasidiaris’ hymn and extreme right-wing elements on the ballot that cause disgust”.

On the contrary, on the occasion of the expulsion of Papanotas for his earlier statements, he explained that in SYRIZA there will be zero tolerance “in any case where there is a deviation from the principles, respect and equality”.

At the same time, the leader of SYRIZA attacked those who accuse him of “phrases that I never used”, referring to those attributed to him for his baptism after his appointment with Archbishop Elpidophoros in the USA. He described the accusations as “character assassination” and “cannibalism” involving “our political opponents”.

“Distort, strike,” urged St. Kasselakis, as “SYRIZA has in me enormous strength, endurance and stubbornness”, speaking of a modern left that “does not assign patriotism to patriots, which does not assign security to a ND whose days have seen all the indicators shoot up criminality”.

After the party president’s speech, the alphabetical presentation of the candidate MEPs began.

Among them are the five choices of Stefanos Kasselakis who completed the list of 42. “I add the final touch, five people whose personal path would perhaps make it difficult for them to participate in an electoral process. But who come to stand with us and unite your choices with themselves with a ballot that we have every reason to be proud of” he pointed out.
