“The party must be re-founded and the President Mr. Stefanos Kasselakis has the right to invite the Members to effectively participate in this process and through #iSYRIZA. Because the party and the discourse belongs first to the Members — not to the collective leadership that has not taken any responsibility to date and, in order to maintain the internal party status quo, wants to persistently repeat the well-trodden path that led us to 17% and below…”.
This is emphasized in a post by the second Piraeus member of parliament of the official opposition, Nina Kasimati.
“Sr. Alexis Tsipras did not “hand over to his successor”, he says, indirectly commenting on what Olga Gerovasili supported in the morning and claims that “factions were prioritized instead of politics” when the party organs refused to convene the Congress in the summer.

Nina Kasimati’s post in detail:
“For the new SYRIZA
The party must be re-founded and the President Mr. Stefanos Kasselakis is entitled to invite the Members to participate effectively in this process and through #iSYRIZA. Because the party and the discourse belongs first to the Members — not to the collective leadership that has not taken any responsibility to date and, in order to maintain the internal party status quo, wants to persistently repeat the trodden path that led us to 17% and below…
So, since opinions are free, but facts are sacred, these in summary are as follows:
1. The President of SYRIZA-PS, Mr. Stefanos Kasselakis, received a party leadership mandate from the thousands of members. That is, from the citizens, who were convinced by his candidacy that SYRIZA is not a lost cause, and finally came to the polls to vote for him as a new and reliable person and to reorganize with them, as he himself had promised, a party in big decline already in September ’23, after he had previously been resoundingly disapproved to the extent of a case study losing 1/2 of his electoral power from the position of the Official Opposition.
2. Mr. Alexis Tsipras did not “hand over to his successor”. With an attitude of dignity, he resigned on June 23 from the Executive Secretariat and then, all alone, through a frozen room in Zappeion, he spoke to the Panhellenic community, as well as to the members and executives of SYRIZA-PS, about a historic cycle of the party “which has now close”, among other things calling us: “not to allow a single day to be lost both in the confrontation with the ND government, and in the confrontation with our own weaknesses, pathologies and problems. A process of deep renewal and re-establishment, which will embrace all members of the party, but also the friends and social groups we want to represent is an immediate priority. The new SYRIZA is an immediate priority.”
3. The intermediate governing bodies of SYRIZA-PS, the Political Secretariat and the Central Committee, from July 2023 will reject by a majority the immediate convening of the highest governing body, the Congress, and the intra-party dialogue about the causes of the defeat, which would act as an opinion and allow the extraction of useful and safe collective conclusions for the ideological-political redefinition of the course and identity of the new SYRIZA.
This is how factions were put forward again instead of Politics.
The President now and in view of the 4th Congress addresses a new open call to society, our members and those who want to become members, to form together, from below, in a transparent, democratic, organized and collective way, the new SYRIZA. The party that will express in majority and genuinely the living forces of the place, the hopes and the perspective of the Greek people.
We all participate by joining iSYRIZA”
