Kasia Kowalska complains of criticism after her daughter’s illness: “People will feel better when they kick someone. This is our Polish nature.”

At the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Kasia Kowalska revealed in an emotional Instagram recording that her daughter was arriving at a hospital in Britain in poor condition. The artist asked to stay home, but despite her restrictions, she played a concert herself in Ciechanów, when her daughter felt better than her. A wave of criticism fell on Kowalska and some of her fans accused her of hypocrisy.

In the podcast “Yes, we have it!” the singer returned to her daughter’s illness again. She said that the first time Ola was hospitalized, she was sent home. At that time, the results for the presence of the coronavirus were negative.

They have not given her any test results and she is already feeling very bad. The next morning, when she called me, she could no longer catch her breath. She waited 4.5 hours before an ambulance took her to another hospital. They have already accepted her there, after the intervention of my friends, screaming that we will judge them and that she is Polish, so they don’t want to accept her. We did everything we could to ensure that, God forbid, she was not thrown out of this hospital. She was placed in solitary confinement, she was already under observation, the result was expected – told in the podcast.

The singer revealed that only after Ola tested positive for coronavirus, she was given oxygen and doctors started treatment. Unfortunately, the girl’s condition worsened and intubation was required. Kowalska recalled that the call from the hospital was one of the worst she ever received.

The singer confided that she heard from doctors that they should have intubated her daughter because the girl’s lungs were “coming out”. Kasia admitted that she later “called all the doctors because she didn’t know what to do”. She was the doctor of the infectious disease department who told her about the difficult situation related to the coronavirus pandemic and encouraged her to record a film that would raise awareness of society, for which she admitted criticism.

Kowalska’s daughter’s health did not improve and she was transported to another facility, which was to be “her last chance”.

They took Ola to the hospital, where in England they treat only the lungs and probably the heart. Very high specialization of doctors and high-class equipment. There they put her in solitary confinement and set up her ECMO (…). In this ECMO, my daughter has been in critical condition for two weeks the whole time and the doctor told me to pray and believe he would get over her because her condition is critical. For 12 days I walked around the house talking to myself and talking to her all the time. I cried, I woke up, I cried, I prayed, I was on my knees, I was just doing everything – told in the podcast.

Kasia said that during this tragic period – everything was associated with a funeral. She also admitted that her friends who brought her food at the time couldn’t look into her eyes because they too were crying. It was only at Easter that Kowalska received the information that her daughter’s health had slightly improved. Then there was a chance that everything would work out and Ola was transferred to another hospital. Kasia also recalled that shortly after her daughter regained consciousness, she asked her mother why she was getting so many negative messages from people.
