From November 5 to 8, the Latvian national team in the German city of Krefeld will take part in the “Deutschland Cup” – one of the oldest national team tournaments in Europe.
There are 27 players in the tournament – three goalkeepers, nine defenders and 15 forwards.
The team’s first goalkeeper will be Vancouver “Canucks“under the wing Artūrs Šilovs, but from the guards in the Latvian national team shirt will be able to see such hockey players as Artūrs Kulda, Kārlis Čukste, Oskars Bārtulis a Krišjānis Rēdlihs. In turn, in the attack from the leading players will represent the national team Mārtiņš Karsums, Rihards Bukarts, Andris Džeriņš and Gunārs Skvorcovs.
The head coach of the Latvian national team will be in the tournament Artis Ābolswho will be assisted Herbert Vasilyev, Edgar Masalsky and Maxim Shirokov, as well as daily communication with Bob Hartley, making decisions about the ranks of players.
The German national team and the German U-23 national team will face off. The matches will be available on LTV7.
The team will go to the tournament on Wednesday, November 4 and will be back on Monday, November 9. Each team member will perform two Covid-19 tests both before the start of the training camp and before departure to Germany, as well as twice after returning to Latvia.
It has already been reported that all Covid-19 tests were negative this week for players of the national team.
