NRK’s ”4ETG” has found its new member. The humor talent Karsten Blomvik from Stavanger is the latest addition to YouTube success.
It is “4ETG” itself that confirms that Karsten Blomvik (25) is the new member of one video on YouTube published Wednesday.
In the video, Blomvik has to go through a fire trial where he “fights” against comedian Bjarte Tjøstheim about the place in the humor collective. Blomvik is victorious and is introduced with one “Bloody” picture on Instagram.
Blomvik also had strong competition in the application process. The position as the new member of NRK’s ”4ETG” had 113 applicants from all over the country and many good candidates, says project manager Natasha Sayer to VG.
– The amount of applicants makes us optimistic about the number of humor talents in Norway, she says, adding that there are no immediate plans for more permanent members in “4ETG”.
– But we are a talent project, where new ones will come and the established ones will leave us for other projects. But more familiar faces will emerge on the channel in the future, says Sayer, drawing on a number of young humor profiles such as Ahmed Mamow, Magan Gallery, the guys in “With All Respect”, Maria Stavang, Hallvard Dyrnes.
Computer engineer and comedian
Karsten Blomvik hails from Stavanger and has operated with a standup for five years. He has been a central figure in the standup environment in Rogaland, and was instrumental in starting the county’s first standup club.
– Since my parents felt that the standup did not seem like a very stable future, I also took a degree as a computer engineer at the University of Stavanger. After graduation, I was lucky enough to get a job in the Netherlands, where there is a thriving English standup environment that I was invited to, Blomvik tells VG.

– Karsten, despite her young age, has a lot of training in standup, stage fright and screenwriting, which we are sure comes well into our humor collective, says project manager Sayer.
Blomvik, for its part, seems that “4ETG” is a cool channel.
– There have always been extremely good members in the editorial team, so to join me I feel both very stubborn and very surreal. Now I am very much looking forward to working with this bunch of extremely lovely and talented people.
Everything is law
“4ETG” consists of the program directors Annika Momrak (21) and Martha Leivestad (26). The NRK humor offering is first and foremost broadcast on YouTube, and is described as a “humor collective where everything is legal”. A couple of times a week new, short videos with different themes and sometimes with guests are published. Among other things, have comedian Herman Flesvig participated in several videos on the channel.
In the NRK program “Wild roads” it is woven in its own mouth and made omelette of vomit. Several of the profiles from “4ETG” were also featured in this program.
Because when everything is legal, just let go of your imagination. The videos of “4ETG” range from “who is the best at smuggling alcohol” to “training with Funkygine in the self-quarantine”. In a video, former “4ETG” profile Jonas Lihaug Fredriksen also tastes on the lips of everyone in “4ETG”.
In May, it became clear that NRK’s YouTube channel was replacing profiles after NRK searched for new profiles for the YouTube venture. A short time later, NRK confirmed to VG that Jonas Lihaug Fredriksen finished in “4ETG” after five years.
“4ETG” started spring 2018 with just the gang on the fourth floor of NRK. Henrik Hildre and Henrik Farley are also among former members. Under the Humor Prize 2019, “4ETG” was nominated in the category “The funniest of the year online”.
– Last month we had two million views on the channel and some videos have been very well received. We have just under 90,000 subscribers and are experiencing good response to most of our content. Given the reactions we get from the consequences when members start or leave, we interpret it so that many have great commitment to NRK 4ETG. We are pleased, but we also feel with fans who make sure that previous profiles leave the collective, says project manager Natasha Sayer to VG.
